Marshall Janson suffered from meningitis when he was just one year old and narrowly escaped with his life but unfortunately his hands and legs had to get amputated but he still didn't give up on his dream of playing football with Tottenham Hotspur. Marshall was given the opportunity to warm up with the team before their game and was thrilled that his dream was coming true. Unfortunately his mum was worried people would laugh at him, but instead the crowd cheered. As Marshall gets older he will need new prosthetic legs every year but they cost nearly 2 million dollars so his mum has begun fundraising so she can afford new legs for Marshall .

Book Bash
This year instead of doing Book club we are calling it Book Bash and we didn't get put into groups like we did last year get to choose the book we are going to be reading. One of my options was Soldier Dog by Sam Angus and that is the group I got put into. Instead of doing a normal role this week we are all making a prediction about what we think will will happen in the book. Before we made our predictions we got to read the back of the book . This is my prediction:
I think that Stanley's brother will go off to war and Stanley and his family will start missing him badly. When the family's puppies disappear I think that is Stanley's breaking point and that is when he runs away to join the army like the back of the book says. I think he will become best friends with the dog he is put with. In the end I think he will find his brother and they will both get home safely.
This Weeks Goal
Goal: I organise myself to be ready to learn. I know when I need to take a break from my learning.
I think this is a good goal for me because sometimes I find it hard to think and sometimes I need a break
Here are three things that I am going to try hard to make sure I do this week.
1. I am going to make sure that I am taking regular brain breaks at appropriate times.
2. I am going to make sure I am eating brain food and drinking lots of water.
3. I will also try to keep myself organised so I don't get worried or stressed.

Goal Reflection
Doing the right thing in the right place
This week our goal was to do the right thing in the right space, it was also our goal last week but we still needed to work on it. I think I have achieved this goal because I have really thought about what I'm actually doing and what space suits what I'm doing like for example I needed to do some of my IE and the right space for that would have been the lounge (our quiet space) because my IE is an independent task. I also made sure that if I needed to meet with one of my groups about our collaborative learning we would go into the Hui room or the Hub because those are both collaborative zones.

TK College Jazz Band
This morning at nine fifteen the whole school lined up outside the hall , we were going to be hearing the Jazz band from TeKauwhata College Preform some songs. There was plenty of instruments and these are the ones I remember , Trombone, Saxophone, Flute, Trumpet, Drums and Bass guitar. They preformed about forty minutes of music some of it was from the movie Frozen and some of the music was from Michael Jackson and Henry Mancini. A few of the student got to have a go playing the instruments and some people had a go at conducting the whole band.

Three men were spotted and saved after being stranded on a small isolated island in the pacific ocean . They were spotted by the US Navy and the Coastguard because of a sign they had drawn on the beach that said 'HELP'. The Sailors had been stranded for three days after there boat sunk and they were forced to swim to to the shore of the island. They used branches from the palm trees to write the sign and they also used their brightly coloured life jackets to be more visible so they would get noticed. A US navy aircraft spotted their sign and a boat was sent to pick them up from the small island which was actually called Fanadik. In the end all three of the men were fine.

Goal reflection
Goal : I can make positive choices that are right for my own learning.
Reflection: I think this goal is a good goal for me because sitting on my own is the right thing to do especially since there is lots of work to get done.
I think I could work on this goal a little bit better so that I can get my work done on time and so that I can get back up to date with my aws.
I think I have made some good choices so far like sitting on my own in the quiet zone a few times but I still think that I can make bigger and better decisions for my own learning.

My Easter Weekend
For my Easter me and my family went to Pauanui on Thursday night and my Nana and my cousin Ruby came up on Friday. On Friday it was my friend Graces birthday party but before the party me Morgan and my cousin Maggie went on our scooters around pauanui and we scooter on the wharf and then I got back to my bach and I went over to Graces bach and we decorated cupcakes and they tasted really nice and then we played some games.
On Saturday morning I went kayaking with my family and Ruby and also my friends Grace and Meg. We all had a swim while dad got the kayaks ready , and me and Ruby went on the double one while grace went in the single. In the afternoon we went to the south end of the beach to walk across the rocks and we saw lots of skinks. After that me and Ruby went for a bike ride to the flying fox. After dinner I went to Graces house for a game of spotlight.
On Sunday we woke up and found our eggs, my favourite eggs were the crunchie ones with bits of crunchie in them.Later in the day we went for a bike ride to the to show my cousin the shops. For lunch we made hot cross buns and then we went to the beach for a swim but it was really rough. On Monday Ruby and Nana left in the morning and we left in the afternoon. One Australian man will definitely be sore after hauling in a 363kg Black Marlin in Perth on Wednesday. It took three hours to pull it in . This record beat the previous record for biggest black marlin (296k) but unfortunately halfway through bringing it in his friends had to help him stay straight which is against the rules which means his record did not count. The twenty five year old who ways 72kg (just one fifth of the marlin) said wrestling with the fish was the most painful experience of his life. The biggest ever marlin catch in Western Australia was a 368.20kg Blue Marlin.

One Women received a very strange surprise when she cracked open her egg to find another egg inside of it.
She filmed her discovery showing everyone the remains of the first egg , the shell, the yolk and the extra egg that came out. The extra egg was smaller and was covered in something goey but after a while the women realised that the whole egg was intact. She tried cracking open the second egg and it was perfectly fine. check out the video

Do you have a fear of heights? or are you a daredevil because for those who are wanting to battle their fear of heights need to check out this , a seventy story high glass slide. The 'Sky Slide' is set to open in June this year , the sky slide is 1000 feet above the ground and it slides from the 70th floor to the 69th of the tallest building in west Mississippi. Anyone willing to slide down this would be sliding down nothing but one and a quarter inch of glass.
